Hi! I’m Heather.

I’m a Philly & Brooklyn-based designer/creative director who specializes in B2B/B2C marketing design. Whether you’re a growing company looking to build out your brand style or already have a brand set and want to ramp up materials, I can help! I’ve been fortunate enough to have had a wide range of experience over the course of my career, with abilities ranging from web/digital design, to print design, to event experience & design, to photo/video creative direction.

Prior to founding H.McGinnis Designs, I was in both the NYC tech world and the pharmaceutical advertising agency world. With the agencies, I had the privilege of working with amazing clients and earned the opportunity early in my career to pitch design concepts and ideas to executives in San Francisco, Chicago, and more. Having a photo/video studio in-house, one of my favorite parts of the job was working with the team in the studio to art direct styles for new business ops.

In 2015, I had the opportunity to enter the tech scene and joined Namely–a growing HR tech company based out of NYC. It was here I gained tons of in-house marketing design experience, and had the chance to redesign Namely’s brand and begin to ramp up marketing efforts. I art directed 3 commercials, 1 product video, 2 photoshoots, redesigned the website, and designed tons of new collateral pieces for Sales, Marketing, and Internal efforts. One of the best parts of this job was designing taxi ads & billboard ads–my work has been seen in cities like New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Austin, Atlanta, and more.
